Kangaroo Jack – Spoiler alert

“You better run, you better covered.”

This story begins in Brooklyn, New York, when Charlie Carbone (Robert Reid) and Louis Booker (Shawn H. Smith) were only ten years old. In the film, Charlie declares that three major things happened that day on the beach. First of all, her mother, Anna (Dyan Cannon) met Salvatore “Sal” Maggio (Christopher Walken), who is a mafia boss and later became Charlie’s stepfather. The second was that Charlie and Louis met for the first time. Finally, Frankie Lombardo (Brian Casey) threw football in the ocean. Charlie went to get it, ignoring the fact that he could not swim. Louis noticed that Charlie was drowned and had saved him, and that’s where friendship began.

Twenty years later, Charlie (Jerry O’Connell) is a hairdresser and Louis (Anthony Anderson) is a guy who is still looking to make money quickly. He speaks to Charlie to help him move televisions. And by “speaking”, I mean that Louis guilt it by evoking the day he saved Charlie’s life – as he did every time he wanted Charlie to help him with something Charlie did not want to do.

Few things know only the truck in which they move the televisions are stolen, which leads to a large police pursuit where the end result is Louis and Charlie leading the cops without knowing one of the Sal warehouses where $ 4.5 million in goods are hidden. As one could imagine, it upsets Sal, but he gives friends a job to redeem himself. He calls Frankie (Michael Shannon), who tells Louis and Charlie that they have to go to Australia and deliver a package to Mr. Smith (Marton Csokas). They agree, feeling rather lucky that Sal did not kill them and head for the glorious Outback.

Everything is fine until, by driving their rented jeep, Charlie hits a kangaroo. Thinking that kangaroo (which is affectionately nicknamed Jackie Legs) is dead, Louis decides to put sunglasses and his lucky jacket so that they can take photos. While it happens, the kangaroo wakes up and takes off.

Charlie, who is relieved, he no longer has to see the red jacket (because, honestly, he felt that the jacket was the worst luck of good luck), cannot stop laughing. Meanwhile, Louis begins to cry and explains to Charlie that the jacket contains Mr. Smith’s package; A package that contains $ 50,000. Breed, they continue the kangaroo, but crush the jeep and must find a new way of recovering the money.

And that’s about as the rest of the film happens. Louis and Charlie spend their time trying to continue the legs of Jackie (Adam Garcia) and their adventure is filled with the wildest twists. Like the hiring of a pilot named Blue (Bill Hunter) and making him crush his plane, and seeking help to Jessie (Estella Warren) who knows the fauna of Australia like the back of his hand. Jessie refuses first, but Charlie offers him $ 2,000 to help her mission to repopulate the outback with bilbies and she agrees.

Sal receives an appeal from Mr. Smith, informing him that Louis and Charlie have never presented themselves with the money, then SAL sends Frankie to Australia to repair the situation. Frankie hires the guide M. Jimmy (David Ngoombujarra) to help him, and when Frankie discovers where Charlie and Louis will get rid of Jimmy and attacks the two himself.

Mr. Smith and his henchmen are ready to kill Charlie, Louis and Jessie when Frankie presents himself. He informs Mr. Smith (with a slap in the face of the butt of a rifle) that the contract he had with Sal is dismissed and left to kill Charlie and Louis, telling them that Sal was very disappointed to have lost the money.

They spot Jackie and go up after him on their camels with Frankie Hot on their heels in her jeep. Frankie turns on the Jeep and Louis manages to catch Jackie enough to tear the packet from the pocket, but does not see the cliff that is right in front of him. The camel stops sudden, sending Louis on his head and bottom of the cliff, where he holds a tree root. Charlie is capable of locking belts on his arm and brings in Charlie.

Frankie catches up with them and reveals that Sal has not been disappointed that money is lost; Sal was disappointed because Charlie and Louis were not died. Sal had sent them to Australia to pay Mr. Smith for their own execution. Frankie is about to finish work when Mr. Jimmy, who is actually a cop, appears in a helicopter. Frankie and Mr. Smith are both in police custody and Jimmy told Charlie that Mr. Smith was a notorious hitman, whom he heard was familiar with the Maggio crime family, and when Frankie hired a guide, Jimmy was waiting for him.

Everything is fine until Charlie finds Louis standing on the edge of the cliff. Louis is convinced that Charlie will no longer want it, saying that “guilt was the glue that held this friendship together” and that they were even now that Charlie saved Louis’s life. Charlie tells Louis roughly that the idea is absurd and that they share an “intimate and not gay moment”.

Jackie returns and Charlie is able to remove the jacket from him and returns him to Louis, and everything ends joyfully with Sal going to prison, Charlie and Louis using the $ 50,000 to start their own hair care line called Lily Berry Shampoo, and Charlie marry Jessie.

This film must be one of the most cordial films I have ever seen, but I would lie if I said that it was not also one of my favorites. It’s so fun and full of humor, and you really have to love everything Christopher Walken does. There are a few things that I have to mention, like the fairly obvious CGI (but surprisingly well done) jackie legs, and the fact that is rather ridiculous that kangaroos can only travel up to 35 mph, but nobody can catch Jackie on a camel or in a jeep. But these are minor details. He has adult tones, but it’s a very good family film that I think everyone will appreciate.
