First steps – Review & Cocktail – GenMovi

For most of human history, it is generally believed that there is only A Good Fantastic Four movie, and it’s Indestructibles. For any reason, Marvel’s first family has not had the best series of theatrical adventures. It dates back to the 1990s when a film led me by the king of worship Roger Corman was under development, but was never released outside of bootlegs and restorations that you can really look at today. They tried again in the 2000s with two films, but they just couldn’t resist the age of Spider-Man and X-Men. And finally, another attempt was made in 2015, and it was a disaster that it sort of made the director had a complete breakdown. I do not know, maybe the fantastic four were just condemned to fail each point, but perhaps the Marvel cinematographic universe could break the cycle. It’s not like they have been on mediocrity for a few years.

But now, a good Fantastic Four movie East possible. First step It was a very funny moment that managed to give a familiar machine a new layer of paint. The characterization of these icons is phenomenal and endearing of the jump, while retrofuturism feels fresh for franchise and birth one of the most unique and pleasant films that Marvel has long produced. But, as I said in my Also positive review of ThunderboltIt still does not have the impression that the game changer that the MCU is looking for. Apart from the new characters and the new landscapes, it is always the MCU formula at the base, not doing much to break the mold based on the staging and the minimum writing which give the impression that it could be directed by anyone. This is getting closer so close to making it feels like a film on real People, but like most attempts in the MCU, it does not hit the brand. Even with my problems, it’s always a good time in the theater, but for a subtitled film First stepI hoped in a way that these films go ahead rather than staying in the same place.

Vanessa Kirby like Sue Storm

Located on an alternative land of the rest of the MCU, the fantastic four are the only protectors of their planet, whose security is threatened by the imminent arrival of a space called Galactus. With the intention of Galactus to devour the land clearly, the four must work together to resolve an impossible decision to save everyone’s life on earth as well as their recently arrived space.

Listen, I know we probably all think that we have seen a little too much Pedro Pascal Recently, but its role as leader Reed Richards is just an additional proof of its quality. He feels really different here with many roles for which we know him, depicting Reed as a neurotic and openly paranoid genius who tries to be ahead of the curve on everything. His desire to solve each problem before him is both a gift and a curse, because his will to be analytical can often lead him to think with his brain when he should think with his heart. And he knows it and is somewhat overwhelmed because he realizes that he cannot predict or prepare for everything. This is clear from the very first scene where he and Sue discover that they are pregnant after having abandoned a year ago. Reed has a lot of parallels with Tony Stark, but the film does a solid job to differentiate them in a minute but impactful way. Reed is easily the most layer character of the group, and Pascal Does a good job to close the opponents.

Joseph Quinn like Johnny Storm

After Reed, I said Johnny Storm, played by Joseph QuinnGets the second more game. Conferred as the group’s proverbial little brother, he often strives to prove his usefulness not only as a burning man cosplay, but as a intelligent being in its own right. He is very arrogant and confident in himself, but he puts in work to add value to a situation beyond what is expected of him. As for the other members, Sue Storm and Ben Grimm, I have the impression that they were a little broken in comparison. Vanessa Kirby Sue has great moments of emotion, but the film does not really plunge too deep into the theme of maternity with it, which is in a way what it feels in self later in the film. There are moments of tension between her and Reed, but sometimes they just seem to come out of nowhere as we are told their problems rather than showing them, causing a little cervical boost. Finally, Ebon Moss-Bachrach The thing is honestly just there. It’s a joy to be there, don’t get me wrong, but he didn’t give anything to work with here. He has a little crush on a strangely casting Natasha LyonneBut that does not stand at all expanded. I guess they wanted to avoid him to fight against the loss of his human appearance so as not to relapse on the ground, but that ends up making him feel like a lateral character rather than an integral part of the distribution.

The skinny towards retrofuturism inspired by the 1960s was definitely a solid choice for this new land, and I think it has successfully succeeded. There are a lot of truly neat stylistic designs from the time, like the herbie robot which recalls the cassettes and the transmissions of deep space recorded on discs in golden vinyl. The film makes some attempts to have it feel Like a film from the 60s with its use of Technicolor and transitions, but unfortunately, it does not do everything. The visual style ends up being the usual business for Marvel, but I would say that the effects certainly feel much more polished and anchored this time. A large part of the SET design seems credible, while a gigantic man with a adjustment fork as a galactus looks incredibly impressive for the most part. There are moments of rubber, but I think these cases are much less than what we expect from Marvel these days.

Ebon Moss-Barach like Ben Grimm

It’s just a shame that, even if the film chose an interesting artistic direction, he decided to play it safely with regard to his narrative style. The story itself is good and actually presents an interesting moral dilemma which … Look, it is a Marvel film. It will not become so deep. But I have the impression that the MCU needs more courage with regard to its narration these days. They think that it is a question of introducing new characters while forgetting to give us everything that will surprise us. These films do not try to be stimulating or subversive, and that is good, but there must be more creativity in the way these stories are presented. The script really has no personality, a large part of the writing being bland and direct while the comedy managed to miss more than it hit me. And as I alluded earlier, there is no real sauce in the direction outside of its action sequences, and even then, sometimes the editing and structuring of all this is like an automatic pilot. There is a certain tacit vacuum; Almost a fear of connecting to us as human beings rather than fans. Band films can and have been capable of it. I have my problems with Superman, but there is a real light of humanity. And even if I enjoyed this film quite a bit, I always felt like he was put on boxes and painting by figures.

That being said, I think it is one of the best Marvel films that we have obtained in recent years. There is an undeniable refresh with the new world and even the characters sometimes, I just want the creative vision to manifest much more in the meat and the bones of the film. If you are not a fan like the MCU factory line to pump movies, that will probably not bring you back to the side. But, if you are someone like me, I stupidly hold hope that one day Kevin Feige Will wake up one day and decide to put a different hat, it is not the worst thing in the world. I am honestly interested in seeing what the quartet gets up in the future, but not too interested in any Tomfoolery Avengers: Doomsday has planned that it will ruin everything. Did you know they started filming and the script is not even finished? It’s like starting a cake before the chicken even puts the egg.

Here is the thing

So, I held a survey on my Instagram to see which fantastic Four member should be immortalized in the form of a cocktail, and at my slight shock, the thing has won. I wanted to make something orange and earthy by incorporating a few robust ingredients such as carrot juice, turmeric and chili liqueur. The final product makes a fairly interesting drink, with a rooted and slightly botanical body which has almost a shade of chocolate. But I think he is sure to say, that makes bullets.
