It looks like in recent years, we have had an increase in what I would call the cinema “eat the rich”. The films that have descended and often reflect the attitudes and actions of the richest in the world. You know those: The menu,, KnivesTriangle of sadness, and many, much more. Since the time when jokes make fun of their king, we always have as a gravity species towards the abatements with more money than they know what to do. Is it because of bitter jealousy or internalized anger in an imperfect system? It depends on who you ask and how much they could have drink. But my point is that there are many of these films, so you can start to see a good amount of overlap and rehearsal. So, at this stage, you will need to have the hook quite to attract my attention … or should I say, Horn?
Death of a unicorn Take these aforementioned themes of uber-riche madness and gives a work of sparkling and bloody painting with the injection of a fantastic horse creature. This certainly makes one of the most added to this sub-genre, although it can be alone in the concept. There is not a ton of originality in points than the target film, which is honestly correct when the film is more concerned to be exaggerated than sincere. However, there are moments of sentimentality that really lead this thing, not really getting stuck with the clumsiness in which the film tends to look. He finds himself in the middle of two attitudes in the running for control, but when he is ready to let the bowels fly, it becomes a little more a magical experience.
The film follows Elliot and Ridley, the distant father / daughter duo, which spends the weekend in the distant field of the rich but dying boss of Elliot, Odell Leopold. But their journey strikes a roadblock, or more precisely, a unicorn, killing it and then proceeding to stuff it in their trunk. The dead creature first seems to be a disguised blessing, because its healing properties of blood sports that the rich Leopold family cannot wait to exploit. But it is far from being the last unicorn, and his much larger and wicked parents are ready to tear and tear anyone on which they turned to.
I can only hope that Jenna Ortega is cool to play so many adolescents in a bad mood, because it seems to be all that she has ever really threw. Of course, she plays these roles well and well, but it made me less and less excited to see some of her appearances lately because they have all started to feel a little even. In this, she plays the only voice of reason, trying to plead with her rich hosts and her father Pushover so as not to disturb the balance of nature unnatural that they discovered. Fortunately, anxiety is a bit remote, so it does not feel too much like a caricature of what you expect, but I wish that we could have obtained a little more personality of this character. There are times when Toe To a fairly solid comic timing, but it is not really the one that gives many moments to be funny throughout. It is the hetero man that no one will listen to, but it could always have been an excellent opportunity to see more Toe In a way, we have not yet seen.

And if you love Paul RuddWell, you can very well hate him here. It may be the most unmanageable Rudd The performances I have seen, which could be a good or a bad thing. All the clumsy charm for which he is normally known is more or less stripped, transforming him into a man yes really pathetic who constantly ignores his daughter’s concerns. He is incredibly frustrating, but there is at least one gain to the character who grows and achieving the error of his ways. He thinks he does the right thing, but if he really tried to connect with his daughter, he would probably find the right thing to be easier than it does.
The rest of the film is dispersed with very good performances of characters. Will Poulter More or less steal the show as Kid Shepard, the shower Trust Fund, offering some of the best lines and facial expressions of Grade A. Tea lions And Richard E. Grant Play the stereotypical but pleasant billionaire couple who show how much they care by putting their money to things like the rescue or vaccination of refugees (they are not entirely sure which ones). And then there are minor roles of Anthony Carrigan And Suna Mani As common workers who are caught in the cross fire of the greed of leopolds. Many of these performances are quite marticulated, but in the right direction. You will not find many surprises or perspectives on these archetypes of proven characters, but they never bother you with their antics.

But what about these titular unicorns? Completely the monster of the unusual horror film apart from this little The cabin in the woods. To tell the truth, I am a little mixed with their presentation. On the one hand, I think they offer unique victims and configurations while presenting fairly solid animatronic work. But unfortunately, the majority of the time you see them are CGI animals that are not exactly the best. Most of the time, they are covered at night, which helps, but once it is shiny and sunny outside, the falsehood becomes painfully apparent. However, there is a pleasure to have when they start to wreak havoc on these elites, it’s just a shame that it takes until the third act so that things become really disgusting and bloody.
Although I think the strange funny line or killing has helped to prevent it from being completely boring, there always seems to be a hesitation in going as crazy as the intrigue allowed it. The film opens with a great murder of mad mercy of a unicorn, but it is almost as wild as for the next hour. The intrigue and themes are so obvious and generic that it was necessary in a way this little Zanness to make these bits more unpaid, in particular for how long the film makes you sit with them. The comedy is unfortunately not strong enough to completely justify its criticisms at the level of the surface on capitalism and the apathy that wealth brings. In addition, the sentimentality between the girl and the dad here seems super forced, to be too sentimental for what should be a crazy film on unicorns that hire people. This is particularly obvious in the third act, when moments of tension and action are awkwardly interrupted to try to do things in a last -minute character development. Perhaps it would have been a little more pleasant to taste if the film was more leaned over the cosmic reflection of life after death, but as the rest of the ideas of the film, it only reaches the surface level.
Although I had a fairly decent time with the death of the unicorn, I couldn’t help but feel frustrated by the film’s decision to play relatively safe and not to become as bizarre or spicy as a configuration as this would allow. Stupidity sometimes strikes and the uni-Iini kills can sometimes be shocking, but the hesitation in pushing the film, the father, let me want more of this idea. It’s a shame that good-class war films look like the fantastic creature at the forefront of this film; Nothing more than a legend of what was in the past.
