Iris (Brittany Snow) is forced to abandon school after an accident takes the life of her parents to help support her brother, Raleigh (Logan Miller), who has leukemia and needs a bone marrow transplant. Medical invoices accumulate and Iris find it difficult to find a job. It was at this point that she meets a man who claims to be able not only to provide enough money for debts, but also find a donor for Raleigh and eliminate any waiting list.

Shepard “Shep” Lambrick (Jeffrey Combs) directs a philanthropy foundation, helping to build medical centers and schools around the world. He meets Iris and offers him an invitation to a dinner with seven other guests, at the end of which a match will be held. The winner gets everything he needs to take care of his problems. Although Iris is hesitant, she agrees.

Things start quite pleasantly. The party includes Iris, Shep, Lucas (Enver Gjokaj), Amy (Sasha Gray), Conway (John Heard), Travis (Charlie Hofheimer), Cal (Eddie Steeple), Linda (June Squibb) and Peter (Robb Wells). The accompanying people are the son of Shep, Julian (Robin Lord Taylor), the butler of Shep / Hand Man Bevans (Jonny Coyne) and the staff of Bevans. At first, the competition is difficult, but manageable. Iris, who is a vegetarian, obtains $ 10,000 to eat steak. Conway, who has been a recovered alcoholic for over sixteen years, obtains $ 50,000 for drinking a tape carafe. It is when the players realize that things will become dangerous that Conway tries to leave and is quickly shot in the head. There is no way to get out.

Each player answers a question of “do you prefer?”. Whatever the option chosen, this person must work and is on a time limit. It starts with the choice of electrocution or someone else. As the game progresses, the challenges become more difficult. Each player is slowly eliminated via death. Or close to death (he has never really revealed if Travis lives or not). Travis is whipped, Linda bleeds, Peter dies likely Shock, Amy Drowns, and Cal is shot down by Shep after an escape attempt. At the end, only Iris and Lucas remain.

Iris obtains the choice of letting her go and of Lucas, completely alive, but the empty hands, that is, she fatally draws Lucas. It is at this stage that Shep reminds her why she is there to start: Raleigh. Naturally, Lucas tries to persuade Iris to let them go, and even try to connect with her, explaining why he is there. Before being able to finish, however, Iris draws him into his heart. While Shep, Bevans and the rest of the staff congratulate her, Iris drops the pistol and buries her face in her arms, crying.

After composing herself, Iris is brought home, where she cleans herself. She will check Raleigh, who is still in bed. She pulls to wake him up, but as she rolls him, she sees and empties the bottle of her drugs and vomits on her pillow. While she left, making impossible decisions on her behalf, Raleigh committed suicide.

I arrived through this film by looking for something to watch. Honestly, I thought it would be another typical student putting herself in a troubled film, but, in fact, it is probably one of the best B films that I saw. The things that players are forced to travel are really uncomfortable looking at and the game is perfect. Funny, Brittany Snow is also one of the producers.

I fully expected that things go the way to Iris after the nightmare she crossed, but after getting home to find her dead brother by her own hand, it made me appreciate this film much more. Having an end so obvious is what I like in most films. It’s sad, clearly, but I think it really makes you feel something, and that’s what made this film. If you can manage a little blood and you can sit while watching people die again and again, I highly recommend it. It’s a great movie is worth it.
