Sector state: 2025

My sectoral colleagues,

If you read my last article from 2024, you will know that my creative victories for last year were fairly sparse, especially on the literary side. Overall, it was a fairly mixed bag, although there are real light points along the way. Let’s go and discuss everything, proverbial good, evil and ugly.

The bad news

I thought I would change it and first deliver the bad news. So let’s go and keep it away.

A swing and a miss: At the beginning of 2024, an interesting opportunity arose. One of the four major publishers was interested in one of my fantastic manuscripts. He was sent to submission and we waited … and expected. The months have passed without news, but publishing is not a game for the impatient. Finally, the publisher in question simply ceased to contact us. It is frustrating, because it took years to go to this post only so that the publisher was fantasizing essentially. But, there is in fact a mark of distinction for an author in having a project “die on submission”. This means that you almost I arrived because the next step would have been a book. Next time, if I can reach a step higher, I should be on a better field. As is the case for publication, it is nothing until it is something. Back to the box at the box.

Appearance

A exchange situation: In addition to the large quantities of personal conflicts this year, I also changed my job towards the middle of the year, and this was both one of the most difficult professional transitions of my career and quite different from everything I have ever done. Between this and a few other potential job problems with my family, stress and lack of mental bandwidth withdraw from my ordinary writing schedule. I could not find my way back before mid-November (more about this below). So, consequently, I have very little to show on the side of fiction. Almost all the objectives I made last year failed, and I don’t know when I can go back to them. I made marginal progress on the science fiction novel that I mentioned in the last address of the sector of the sector, but even it finally struck a brick wall. If there is good news, it is because the holidays have seen a renewed fire in my veins with regard to my fictitious stories. We will see how it is realized now that my vacation is over.

The store in the biting sector farm: I will close the store in the sector in February. I will not delete it entirely in case of renewed need. Unfortunately, this requires a decent quantity of maintenance and costs to maintain it during execution, and sales of any sector merchant actually have a stable line. So, I will renew all the conceptions currently available at the moment, but I plan to close it on Saturday, February 1. So if there are conceptions that you like, it would be the right time to grasp them. You can find the sector store here.

Future in the uncertain M Games sector: This year, we have published two titles on the DMS Guild, The guide to fire it on magic articles And The Knights of Solamnia Revisited. The two were well received by the community, and the two were presented in the weekly newsletter of the DMS guild. I had a manuscript for a third episode for the DMS Guild, but it seems that it will have to be put aside in the predictable future. With so much uncertainty in the situation of my family, my disposable income (which I use to finance my game projects) may simply not be available for a certain time to come. My philosophy for these supplements has always been to make them as good as possible, and I want to stick to it. So, I prefer to keep the projects until they can be approached with high standards than to try to rush something. If something changes on this front, I will make a special update publication here on the blog to inform everyone.

Shock blogs: As a writer, I like to regularly meet my deadlines. My history with 2024’s blog articles were… troubled, especially as the year advanced. I have always delivered the twelve as expected, but I found myself having to adjust the dates of publication, sometimes a few weeks to deliver them fully. I will try to be more consistent in 2025, although many of the same factors that have caused these delays are still in play. For this next year, here are my target dates for new blogs every month. Of course, there could be room for maneuver, but here is the calendar I am going to at the moment:

The good news

Okay, I know it was a lot like bad news. Believe me, if it was difficult for you to pass, it was just as difficult for me to write. It is not every year that the wheels immediately come from almost everything. In the light of all the things that have gone wrong or that simply did not materialize this year, that makes the light points shine.

The best months of the blog: Traffic on this blog has definitely resumed in recent years. I now receive traffic in a week that could have taken a month or two before that. I think that part of this is regular updates, in my case at least once a month. I have this blog since May 2013, and as far as I know, October, November and December of this year, the best three months have ever had. I know that many blogs tend to specialize and be mainly on something. This blog is a kind of museum pot-pourri and history, cheesy / geek stuff, writing subjects and just strange things that cross my mind. Thank you for returning and checking it. If you are a regular here, I strongly encourage you to follow this blog so as not to miss post. (There should be a contextual window when you visit which you can click to do this.)

A large ship and a star to direct it.

Sorts of guild dms: As I said above, we released two titles on the DMS Guild in 2024, one in January and the other in November. The guide to fire it on magic articles is the most extensive of the two, and it is available either a downloadable PDF or as paper format (if you get the paper copy, you also get the PDF version for free). The other title, The Knights of Solamnia revisitedis for Dragonlance fans, and it is only available as PDF. I intend to follow both with a FAQ and PDF example that will be available for free download. It is in preparation, although I am not sure when writing these lines when they are ready for the exit. In any case, if you have not recovered a copy of the two titles, check them. I am proud of the way they turned out.

An unexpected wizarding story: As is often the case, when I am deeply in the writing of another story, I have invariably intrusive ideas for other stories. While I was struggling (and finally failed) to maintain the thread of this science fiction novel, I had an idea for a fantastic news that followed following one of my fantastic manuscripts. I finally decided to start writing it around mid-November, and the story has just dumped on the keyboard. My average number of words per hour has more than doubled for each writing session, which tells me that I was really composed. Even with the holidays, which can be murder on a writing calendar, I am happy to say that I finished the initial project at 11:30 p.m. on December 31. So, if I did not accomplish anything else on the side of fiction in 2024, I was able to start and put an end to this novel, which recorded a little less than 27,000 words. Of course, it’s a hot waste at the moment, but one of my projects for January will be to put it in a readable state for my beta readers.

The upcoming road

Normally, this would be the section where I described my objectives and my projects for the new year, but I am a loss for the moment. I finished the sorcerer’s novel, and I am now at loose ends, at least when writing this article. Until I know more about how this year will take place and the possible ramifications that she will have on my family, it is difficult to make long -term plans at this time.

I have this partially finished science fiction news that I could try to finish, or I could revisit the novel Cyberpunk that I have about two-thirds finished (the two have a special place in my heart, even if I had to drop them off). Or, I could try something completely new. I have not yet decided, although fiction short of medium has its appeal because there is less time involved in project, generally between a few weeks and a few months. I would like to have a final answer, but the road to come right now is too misty for me.

Be sure I will land something. I barely want to have another year in a creative way like 2024 if I can help him. If 2024 taught me one thing, it is because we are here for a shorter period than we think. I feel that I barely scratched the surface of the stories I want to tell. If I’m going to make honesty before my time has passed, I have to stay focused.

So, I hope that if I can return my situation, I will be able to open the address of the address of the 2026 sector with the words: What a difference a year made.

Until then, I wish you all a new year filled with realization of dreams and solid metaphorical floors (as well as literals) under your feet.

Go to the sector!

If you are worth, Valeo.
