Congratulations to the former talented who worked on nominated films in the Oscars
We are delighted to share that 10 former students have worked on nine different productions which received 30 Oscar price appointments! This includes 4 of the nominations of the best films: a complete unknown, dune: the second part, the boys Nickel and Wicked.
We could not be more proud of our elders who contributed to nominated productions for the Oscars! Ten alumni were credited with nine remarkable films which collectively won 30 Oscar nominations in films including “Wicke: Romulus,” Better Man “,” Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes “and” The Six Triple Eight “.
The 97th Academy Awards will be broadcast on ABC and Hulu Live on Sunday March 2, 2025. Congratulations to all the elders of the School film who contributed their talents to nominated Oscar productions!
The complete list of nominated productions and the elders of the School film who worked on them are below:
Wicked
Mikaela Padilla (Audio Production 2022) is credited like a Foley mixer on Wicked, who obtained 10 nominations including the best film, the best sound and the best editing. Mikaela also worked on Mufasa: The Lion King and Sonic The Hedgehog 3 this year.
Bob Dylan Biopic A complete unknown
Alec Nickel (film 2014) served as a second BOB Camera assistant on the Bob Dylan Biopic, a complete unknown, which won 8 nominations including “Best image”, “Best Director” and “Best Sound”. This year, Alec also worked on Babygirl, Wolfs and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.
Dune part second
Dominic Koletes (Film 2004) and Jason Beale (2002 film) have both served post-production leaders on the film, which is nominated for five prizes, including “Best image”, “Best Cinematography” and “Best Visual Effects” .
Nickel boys
Devin Stovall (2019 Arts Recording) was a stuntman on Nickel Boys, which is nominated for “best image” and “best suitable scenario”. It is also credited on Red One and Bad Boys: Ride or Die.
Inside out 2
Danielle Adams (2015 arts recording) was an additional re -registration mixer on Inside Out 2, which is nominated for the “best animated feature film”. The other major titles on which she worked this year include Deadpool & Wolverine and here.
Alien: Romulus
Derek Thomason (film 2011) was a production assistant on Alien: Romulus, who is nominated for the “best visual effects”. In previous years, he also worked in the same role in Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, Spider-Man: Homecoming and Deadpool: no good action.
Best man
Maurice VY (2009 film) was a video assistance operator on Better Man, which is nominated for the “best visual effects”. Previously, he worked for the Hong Kong unit of films like Geostorm and Ghost in the Shell.
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes
Nathan Runyan (film 2022) was coordinator VFX / MOCAP on the kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, which is nominated for the “best visual effects”. Nathan has several big credits to come later this year, notably Mission Impossible – The Final Reckoning and Minecraft Movie.
The six triples eight
Eugene Coty (2004 film) worked as a doctor on the six triple Eight, who obtained an appointment for “Best Original Song”. In addition to his work as EMT / Ambulancer, he was also a cameras operator and director of photography on many productions.
