What to do Dallas Buyers Club,, Once upon a time in Hollywood And Blackkklansman Have in common?
Yes, these are all award -winning films of the Oscars.
But these are also films on which our elders have worked.
In fact, we have a long -standing story of students who work on films that have been nominated at the Oscars.
Working on these kinds of films is a dream that many students with starry eyes hold near their hearts as they cross our doors. Nothing really says that you have “done” as working on a production that was nominated.
Although it may look like a distant dream when you start, it can quickly become a reality, as many of our graduates have discovered it.
In fact, two of our former students were personally nominated for the Oscars won Oscars for themselves (and one of them won!).
Let us take a closer look at nominated films with Oscars and Oscaries on which our students worked. We will also tell you about our close links with the Academy of Arts and Cinema Sciences – and how you can rub shoulders with the best of the company.
2014: Nominated graduate for Oscar at 86th Academy Awards
Which can forget the incredible performance of Matthew McConaughey Dallas Buyers Club?
Working on the film was an unforgettable experience for one of our 2002 film graduates.
As soon as Martin thought saw the script for Dallas Buyers ClubHe knew he wanted to be part of it:
“I would have done it for free,” said thought, “the script was just so good, and he [Jean-Marc Valée] is just so good.
Thinking did not only contribute to the film, but was nominated for an Oscars for his work on this subject as editor.
He was the first alumni of Los Angeles Film School to be nominated for an Oscar.
2017: 89th Academy Awards
Oscars of 2017 included powerful cinematographic competitors such as Moonlight And La la Land. It was a year that presented films to which a number of our graduates contributed, in particular our registration arts program.

2020: the 92nd Academy Awards
2020 is a year that none of us is likely to forget. But he was unforgettable for a different reason for some of our graduates who had contributed to nominated films to the Oscars and Oscaries below.
One of our graduates, Ariana Georgescu, worked on the nominated film at the Oscars Harriet As a composer. The road to get there was paved through a grain and hard work.
Although the composition was not something that she wanted to do, learning it in our animation program triggered her passion for that.
The skills that Georgescu acquired in the program put it in good place, which is impressed by those with whom she worked. Georgescu has strengthened in force, working on blockbusters like Mad Max: Fury Road,, Captain America: The Winter Soldier And Godzilla.
We are extremely proud of the work of former students like Georgescu throughout their careers, including nominated and winning films nominated at the Oscars below:

2021: Graduate wins Oscar at the 93rd Academy Awards
When Phillip Bladh crossed our doors in 2008, he did not know that he would cross the Oscar scene 13 years later.
Bladh worked as a mixer of production sounds on Metal sound. The film presented to Bladh a unique opportunity to experiment with sound design, because the story focuses on a drummer that is starting to lose his hearing.
The film plunges the public into the hearing experience of the main character, “Metal sound is quite an audio recording in first -person perspective, ”explains Bladh.
Technical and creative experimentation has borne fruit, leaving Bladh with an Oscar in his hands: “When we won, I was holding the Oscar and just in my head, I was as if I couldn’t believe it comes to happen. “

Hollywood is closer than you think
Our passion is to support our students in pursuing their dreams. And if the history of our former working students on Oscar -nominated productions are something to do, these dreams are certainly at hand.
The splendor and glamor of Hollywood and the Oscars may seem distant to you at the moment, but in the School film, it is closer than you think.
In fact, we have a close link with the Academy of Arts and Cinema Sciences. Many of our students are chosen for their eight -week internship program, Academy Gold Rising, which gives unique access to the opportunities for the film industry, networks and members of the Academy.
The best of the company also crosses our doors to talk to our students. The nominated filmmakers and writers at the Oscars such as Quentin Tarantino, Aaron Sorkin, Taika Waititi, Krysty Wilson -Cairns and Rian Johnson gave discussions at the film School – inspiring the next generation of filmmakers.
Could you be one of them?
